This 1977 design was certified in 1980. The 13 m² glider\'s best glide ratio is 16 at 55 kmph. This good choice for thermaling can be foot-launched, towed or bungee launched from hills. Conçu en 1977 et certifié en 1980, ce petit planeur bois et toile de 13 m² et 16 de finesse à 55 km/h, décollable à pied, en remorqué, à l’élastique est un excellent accrocheur en thermique. Le concepteur, Dieter Reich, propose aussi un planeur motorisé ULF 2 disponible en plans. |
| DESCRIPTION (german): | Dieter Reich hat den ULF-1 1977 entwickelt, Heiner Neumann hat ihn gebaut. 1980 wurde der 13 qm-Hängegleiter mit Gleitzahl 16 (@ 55 km/h) in Deutschland und Australien zertifiziert. Der fußstartfähige UL-Segler kann mit dem Gummiseil, Winden- und F-Schlepp gestartet werden. Für den Bau des fürs Hangsegeln und schwache Thermik ausgelegten Dreiachsers müssen zirka 2.500 Euro Material und rund 1000 Arbeitsstunden gerechnet werden. Die Baupläne werden über die EEL-Website verkauft. Es gibt auch eine motorisierte Version, den ULF-2. |
| DESCRIPTION (chinese): | Dieter Reich developed his little glider, the ULF-1, as long ago as 1977 and it was certified in 1980. Of 13m² area, it is capable of delivering a glide ratio of 16 at 55km/h and can be footlaunched (via trapdoors in the fuselage), bungee-launched or towed. With a Vzmin 0.8m/s, it can make the most of marginal conditions. Construction is lengthy – you can reckon on around 1000h of work – but inexpensive. Around 2500 euros will buy you the materials and no one could complain about the cost of the very well drawn detailed plans – just 150 euros from the EEL website. Also available is a powered version, the ULF-2. |
